Full PSN trophy support, for you trophy enthusiasts. There's a $5 arena add-on on the playstation network. So far only wolves but I think the other 3 colors have mounts too. It's a great system for adventure games that never gets old. You'll often see an object you can't yet reach and then come back later to claim it once you can access more of that area. I've always enjoyed collecting special goodies in Zelda-type fashion. There's tons of special objects in the game to collect. You can now revive your minions (costs 2x their level in minion essence/souls) so if one of your little buggers grabs a fancy helmet early on then you're going to get to see that same helmet for a very long time (unless you don't revive them). Namely there are a lot of improvements over the first game. go enslave some people or you're going to be disappointed with the results (unless you really DID want to burn that town down in your first play through!). So if you're ever given the choice between destroying something and having others do something for you. Oh, it's also somewhat difficult to tell whether you're being good or bad at times, but I finally learned that "dominating" others is being nice. attack them already! Ahhh! Get it off! Get it off!" in particular come to mind, but these are only two little things in an otherwise wonderful little game. *sigh* guess I have to pick it up myself." or "Attack those fire gnomes. I know people don't like the camera but it's no big deal unless you're big on action and this is more of a strategy game where you need to slow down and assess the situation anyway. It does have some flaws which mar the experience, but only slightly.įirst the little nitpicks. I've finished the first Overlord game and I am now about 1/4 (or so?) through the 2nd game.
I tried the demo of the original Overlord a while back and decided to buy it. In the "Treasure Hunt" and "King of the Hill" modes, player compete directly against one another. "Arena Survival" and "Kill a General" are cooperative modes of play.

In places throughout the game, available minions must use their abilities together in order to overcome obstacles and defeat tough enemies.Overlord II features four multiplayer modes, available both online and in offline split-screen, each with its own map.
Players can give custom names to their favorite minions, and resurrect them in a special graveyard if they are lost in the line of duty. Green minions specialize in stealth, serving as excellent assassins, and otherworldly Blues use magic to heal others and avoid harm. Reds can set their surroundings aflame in no time. Brown minions take the part of the belligerent infantry boots on the ground to cause chaos by hand. As before, minions are distinguished by their color, and four main types are available in Overlord II. Minions can also ride wolves and magical creatures into battle.
Of course, it's actually the Overlord's minions that do all the dirty work.The sequel expands play with more skilled minions that can perform more tasks, and can work together to operate war machines and sail heavily armed vessels. Players can choose a path of Domination, ruling mercilessly over the farms and villages of the land and plundering their resources at will, or a path of Destruction, leaving nothing but death and scorched earth in their wakes. Again, the enemy is a civilization known as the Glorious Empire, a great Roman-inspired kingdom that seeks to banish all magic and superstition from the world. The story of Overlord II continues from the first game, as the player assumes the role of the original Overlord's son. Retaining the play style of its predecessor, the game combines the third-person squad management of the GameCube masterpiece, Pikmin, with the wry, good-to-be evil sensibilities of the home computer classic, Dungeon Keeper. Mean-streaked tacticians are called upon to fling more minions and raise more hell In Overlord II.
